Release: 15.6.5 Servicing Release with Xcode 9.3 Support

We are publishing a servicing release for our current major release called 15.6. This update adds SDK bindings and IDE compatibility for Apple’s Xcode 9.3 Release. This release aligns with a new version of Visual Studio 2017 for Mac and Visual Studio 2017 version 15.6.5.

  • Visual Studio 2017 – Visual Studio Installer
    Basic compatibility is provided by the Mac package updates. For additional compatibility until Visual Studio 2017 version 15.6.5 is available, please follow the Installing IDE compatibility section below. (Update April 4: Visual Studio 2017 version 15.6.5 is now available from the Visual Studio Installer. The Installing IDE compatibility section is therefore no longer needed and has been removed. For users who installed the temporary compatibility pack, it is recommended to uninstall it before updating (following the IDE compatibility pack uninstall section below).

  • Visual Studio 2015 Tools for Xamarin – Stable updater channel

Visual Studio 2017 IDE compatibility pack uninstall steps

  1. Navigate to Tools > Extensions and Updates >  Installed.
  2. Locate the Visual Studio Tools for Xamarin (Alpha) item.
  3. Click the Uninstall button.
  4. Close Visual Studio 2017 to allow the VSIX Installer to launch and complete the uninstall process.
  5. Now proceed to update to Visual Studio 2017 version 15.6.5 using the normal update process.
